The 33 year old, young, aspiring, physically challenged (who lost his right leg in a train accident), Ashok Ramlal Munne is inspired by teachings of his Spiritual Guru ‘Sirshree Tejparkhiji’ and preparing himself to climb ‘The Ultimate Challenge – Mount Everest’ again from the Nepal side.
He is physically fit for this task and wants to achieve it with a slogan “Mission Everest 2018”. In 2016 he climbed 28,051 ft of Mount Everest out of 2909 ft
He returned back as climatic conditions were not favourable. He is planning to climb Mount Everest again in April 2018 .
In a family of four, Ashok is the elder son of a Farmer Father Mr. Ramlal Munne, Mother Mrs. Latabai & Younger Sister Ms. Roshni. He and his family belong to village Murti, Tehsil. Katol, Nagpur. Their only livelihood depended on the earnings from farming as they were not financially stable. He graduated in a degree of Bachelor of Social Work.
He wants to inspire physically challenged people all over the world and others by achieving his aim to climb the Mt. Everest. He believes that if you set your mind for your aim and take one step at a time and gradually practice it daily, then you can achieve your aim easily
In 2008, he lost his ‘Right Leg’ in a train accident. After a couple of operations he got an artificial leg from Command Hospital, Military Artificial Limb Centre, Pune. In the mean time books became his close friends in his lonely world they gave him courage to fight his battle of life. Meditation helped him to keep his mind stable.
Those depressing days thoughts of committing suicide was uppermost his mind. His subconscious mind stopped him. He thought of doing something inspirational for youth instead. Suddenly things started falling at right place. In 2009 while recovering in hospital, Ashok heard the news of Ms. Krishna Patil becoming a youngest woman from India to climb Mt. Everest. This news sparked a thought in him that ‘I can also climb the Everest’. The thought has stayed with him since then and he finally decided to go for it.
Ashok has already mastered Martial Arts & Gymnastics prior to accident; he is also a good swimmer and was able to perform various Yogasana’s. After recovery from hospital he didn’t want to waste a single day, he started regular cycling, driving bike & car again but now with his artificial leg. He also trained school students in Martial Art, Gymnastics etc. with giving live demonstrations in Kung-Fu, Karate, Chakrasan, Yoga . He is an experienced Swimmer, everyday he swims about 3 Km. in Ambazari Lake, Nagpur. He also trained himself in scuba diving, paragliding.
Sudhir Moharir of Outward Bound Bharat, realised the intensityof his passion and provided him free training in Mountaineering. Freedom brand provided an artificial limb a Blade, worth Rs 5.5 lakhs. He later became its ambassador too.
Indeed, every journey is memorable but few of his adventures which stunned us are Gold Run from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.. A Marathon of 6,000 km in 2012. Trek to Kugati pass in Himachal Pradesh of 16700ft on 16-20th May 2012.
