#JeSuisBrussels
Once again, terror has risen against peace,
And maybe someday, harmony shall cease.
In this world of man made barriers
Where god is no more a goodwill carrier
Where man lives to see only his pride
Where god is only a reason to divide.
I am with Brussels, and so is the world. Brussels faced three coordinate bombings on the morning of 22nd March. Two at airport in Zaventem and one in Maalbeek metro station. At least 31 victims including 2 suicide bombers died, with about 250 injured. Islamic State claimed responsibility for +the act.
Our world has now entered a phase where peace and tranquillity is standing on the edge of death. Where the reasons that were meant to join people, are dividing them. They call themselves harbingers of justice, equality, law and order, amity. Yes, this is how they bring peace in the world, by bombing. This is how they bring justice, and law and order, by killing innocent people. Yes, this is how they bring equality, by dividing the people on the name of Islam, saying that the followers of Islam shall go to heaven, and categorising all others as Kafir. This is their idea of an ideal world.
The Belgium prime minister called the act of terror “Blind, violent, and cowardly”. The government has announced three days of mourning in the country.
Belgium is an active participant in the ongoing military intervention against ISIL. Belgium also has the highest number of per capita of foreign fighters than any western country, with about 500 left for Syria in 2016.
This is not the first time Belgium is facing terror attacks. In May 2014, a gunman with ties to war in Syria attacked the Jewish Museum of Belgium in Brussels killing four. In August 2015, a suspected terrorist committed a shooting and stabbing attack aboard a Thalys train travelling from Amsterdam to Paris via Brussels. But even after all this, the nation has always risen stronger and more competent.
Even after facing these attacks, Belgium organised many successful counter terrorist programmes, the latest one being on 18 March 2016, the capturing of Salah Abdeslam , a suspected accomplice in Paris attacks that shook the world. The attack on Brussels is reckoned to be an answer for capturing of Salah Abdeslam.
The Belgium prime minister said, “This is a day of tragedy, a black day. I would like to call on everyone to show calmness and solidarity.”
The world must wake up today, unite, and defeat not just ISIS but also its ideologies. ISIS feeds on its spreading ideologies. They brainwash us, and convince us that the wrong, is actually the right. We might finish them off by bombing them, but their true roots which remain in their agenda will be present, and it will grow back again. But the day we stop believing them, and will start believing in the power of our unity, will be the day of their actual loss.
There will finally be true peace, and we shall wake up every morning without a fear growing in our hearts. Humanity will win!
