Conspiracy Theories: Mysterious deaths of 11 Indian Scientists We Know So Little About

The conclusions will never be drawn,
Some say his earth revolved around the electron,

Strewn lay the scribbled sheet of calculations,
The abstract, the synopsis and the observations,

Thy master has disappeared like the fabled’ x’,
Only the bloody trail knows who is next

The death of 11 scientists and engineers working with leading laboratories across the country between 2009-2013 has raised millions of questions about the security of the Indian scientists, as most of these deaths have been ruled as ’unexplained’ by the Indian police due to the fact that vey less or no evidence was found to declare them a murder or to even go ahead with the case.

What is surprising and shocking is the fact that these murders are being treated as any other ordinary case by the police when these cases require special attention, not just because they are scientists working or associated with Indian Nuclear Program, but because the nuclear program in India has always been marred by controversies, deaths and conspiracies.

The very fact that India is developing and is prospering in the field of nuclear energy and is aiming to build some of the weapons on its own instead of buying them from the west is very unsettling for some of the “Foreign players” who consider India as a threat or a competitor in the global arena. Let’s throw some light on some of the instances of bloody history of nuclear energy in India.

  • The death of Dr Homi Jahangir Bhabha in a plane crash was in itself a huge mystery and according to Gregory Douglas, a journalist who taped his interviews with former CIA operative, Robert Crowley, over a period of 4 years, recorded their telephonic conversations and later published their transcribes in a book titled Conversations with the Crow.
  • Crowley claimed that CIA was responsible for eliminating Dr. Homi Bhabha, Indian nuclear scientist, whose plane crashed into Alps, when he was going to attend a Vienna conference and Lal Bahadur Shastri, who died at Tashkent summit in 1966. Crowley said that a bomb in the cargo section of the plane went off in mid-air, bringing down the commercial Boeing 707 airliner in Alps with little evidence left to be retrieved.
  • Nambi Narayanan who was a senior official at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and was in-charge of the cryogenics division was falsely charged with espionage, and was arrested. The charges against him were dismissed by the CBI in 1996, and the Supreme Court declared him not guilty in 1998.

Narayanan introduced the liquid fuel rocket technology in India in the early 1970s, when A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s team was working on solid motors.

Dr. Nambi Narayanan was instrumental in bringing liquid propulsion systems to India. He had signed an agreement with the Russians for cryogenic technology in 1991. They were supposed to finish the entire program by 1999. But the target was achieved only in 2014 due to the case.

But the question remains why would anyone waste their time and money to sabotage somebody else’s business?

  • In 1994, India’s price was half of what the Americans and the French were quoting, and the business was worth $300 billion. Hence India was a huge commercial competitor
  • Also, the “west” has always tried to control things in the Asian sub continent and hence they were scared that India might develop weapons and missiles to add muscle to the Indian Defense organizations.
  • The very fact that India might fabricate something revolutionary or something at a lower cost not just makes us a tough competitor but also a potential threat.

So, the foreign powers did the best of what they have learned during the cold war!!

Sabotage, Murder, Spy and Conspire

The aim of this article is neither to point fingers at a particular party nor to incite huge accusations or to add fire to wild conspiracy theories. It’s just a way to inform the general public that something is amiss and also to grab attention of the concerned to look into certain happenings in the country and to urge them to analyze and introspect them with not a biased view but from a different perspective to avoid another Nambi Narayanan from being tortured or another Homi Bhabha to be charred to death.

Thy master has disappeared like the fabled’ x’,
Only the bloody trail knows who is next
The calculations will wait,
The observations will wait ,
The conclusion will wait,
But the question remains.

Will the next master meet the same fate???
