Phone Bill Proves Dawood Is In Pakistan. And Here Is Why India Needs To Catch Him Now.

The son of an honest police constable working for Mumbai police was arrested in the 1980’s for the first time in a robbery case, and today, 25 years later, he is a global terrorist. That’s some serious growth. Declared as a ‘Specially Designated Terrorist’ by the US department in 2003, what could he have done to land up as the most wanted terrorist?

Dawood Ibrahim, a 59 year old man who lives an extremely lavish life, is the most wanted South Asian terrorist. The man whose whereabouts in Islamabad was given to Pakistani agencies three years ago by the Indian Intelligence department, but was never extradited to India. Although this time there are notably enough evidences to prove that he and his family stay in Karachi’s posh Clifton area. His whereabouts in Pakistan were nailed by his wife’s phone bill, and it has brought us a step closer to catching him.

The leader of the famous D-company which is the largest underground business in South Asia is the lead accuse of the 1993 Mumbai blasts which killed 257 people. He was found responsible for plotting the 2002 Gujarat communal riots. The operations of D-Company involve arms trafficking, contract killing, currency counterfeit, drug-trafficking, extortion and terrorism.

Dawood Ibrahim was involved with the Haji gang and Pathan gang who were mostly migrants from Afghanistan, and very famous in the underworld. But who knew that revenge would make a simple gang into the most searched terrorist. The Pathan gang managed to kill one of Dawood’s brothers which led to a series of revenge killings and as a result of which Mumbai saw the biggest gang war ever.

He allowed Al-Qaeda to use his smuggling routes to escape Afghanistan and supported the L-e-T to evade government agencies. He was also known to have close ties with the ISI. The D-company has the ability to control criminal enterprises across a region which would greatly increase Al-Qaeda and LeT’s potential for growth and violence. He has been a significant threat to the peace and stability in South Asia.

Narendra Modi had told a Gujarti news channel that he would bring the notorious gangster to India from Pakistan if he comes to power.

So will the Prime Minister be able to do what he had planned before he came to power? Will the infamous don be back to his land or will all the efforts just go in vain, is a question that can only be answered by time. As for now, all we can do is, wait for NSA’s Ajit Doval’s dossier on the biggest threat to India.
