It has come as a shock for many, but its true and M S Dhoni has retired from test cricket. BCCI press release said the reason for his retirement is the pressure being built up due to playing all the three different formats. Even though Dhoni has retired from test cricket but his contributions to it can never be forgotten. India even became the number one test team under his leadership in the test rankings. - M S Dhoni is the only wicket keeper who has scored a double century in Test cricket. Yes, a wicket keeper with exemplary batting skills, that’s who Mahendra Singh Dhoni is.
- M S Dhoni has the record for highest individual score made by any Indian captain. He scored 224 runs at Ahmedabad against New Zealand to surpass Tendulkar’s score of 217.
- Dhoni is the most successful Indian test captain till date. He passed Saurav Ganguly’s record of 21 victories of 49 tests in March 2013.
- Dhoni’s maiden Test century against Pakistan in Faisalabad is the fastest century to be scored by any Indian Wicket Keeper. He scored 148 runs of just 93 balls. Only two other international wicket keepers, Kamran Akmal and Adam Gilchrist have made faster centuries than Dhoni’s record.
- In his last test match, M S Dhoni broke Sangakkara’s record for stumpings with a total of 134 stumpings to his name (in all the three formats). That’s how a man of Dhoni’s class ends his game.
