Do You Know What Nana Patekar And Akshay Kumar Are Up To? This Is What We Should Follow

Whenever Arjun will be in distress, his Shri Krishna will surely come for his rescue. No one had ever imagined, when the two superstars Nana Patekar and Akshay Kumar acted in the modified role of Shri Krishna in their movies Raajneeti and Oh My God respectively, that they would replicate this role in their real life as well.

Both the actors became real life Shri Krishna for the poor farmers and the families of those farmers who committed suicide of Vidarbha and Marathwada region of Maharashtra. Even though their help would not eradicate their misery, but their initiative has been accepted with both the hands by everyone, from those farmers to the echelons in the Maharashtra Government.

Akshay Kumar donated Rs 90 Lakhs to hundred and eighty families of those farmers who committed suicide. On 15th of September in Beed district of Marathwada, he distributed Rs 50,000 each to 30 widows.

Nana Patekar donated cheques of Rs 15,000 each to 62 families of farmers in Vidarbha in August 2015 and another 113 families from Latur and Osmanabad districts of Marathwada in September.

To facilitate and help more farmers he got registered an organisation “Naam Foundation” with his Marathi counterpart, actor Makarand Anaspure. This organisation would aid the farmers monetarily to overcome drought like conditions and also help the poor youth from these villages to find jobs in cities.

The organisation has made its bank account details public and has given a chance to common man to contribute and be a part of this initiative. The details are provided below:

Bank: State Bank of India

Current Account No.: 35226127148

IFSC Code:                 SBIN0006319

Swift Code Number:   SBININBB238

He put this bank account details in public domain so that people who really wanted to help by donating for the cause but did not get a proper channel to show their concern, can donate to this organisation and remain assured that their aid will surely reach the needy.

Inspired by the act, the classy Cricketer Ajinkya Rahane donated Rs 5 Lakhs for drought affected farmers. His donation was made to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Once the example was set, people started following their heroes and started donating.

It is this ethos that India is known for. “Live and let live”. This type of character shown by people shows the principle driving force of our Indian society, which believes in survival and sustenance of every being in this world as we believe God is everywhere and in everyone. Helping poor and underprivileged is considered helping for God’s cause.

We should follow these examples and help eradicate misery and agony of those who are in real pain. Instead of choosing publicity hungry actors as our role models, we should choose these people as our mentors who have really contributed for the society’s cause. We should also keep in mind to refrain from choosing those actors who after committing serious crimes have become philanthropists. Yes, it is acceptable when they have really changed.

Nana Patekar and Akshay Kumar have come forward to help these families of farmers. They understand that there was no fault of the family members of those poor farmers. They were betrayed by the weather and underproduction of their crops.

This commendable act has also drawn attention of the state government who in turn have taken this matter under consideration on an urgent basis.

Let us hope that this magnanimity of Akshay Kumar and Nana Patekar motivates other celebs to lend their helping hands to protect the people who give us the most sought after thing, our food. Let this small spark convert into big fire and may this incident become the catalyst for what more can be done to safeguard our feeders.

It should be worth noticing that these actors have understood it beforehand that money will come and go. If we don’t utilise it, we would surely waste it. It is not money we should run after. It is that peace we should search for which comes only when one helps the other.

What Nana said was that “Paisa is a by-product. I will get it anyway. RS 10 Crores or 100 Crores won’t give me security. I feel secure by doing this. It is only a bandage on the huge wound. But in the process, I am securing that human being that is still alive in me. Everyone will forget me if I stop acting in films. You won’t come to interview me, but I know that those people (farmers) will remember me for life.”

If we do not have money and we can’t donate, that’s fine. Everybody doesn’t have the resources in equal amount. We can do our part by spreading this news and make it reach to those who have the resources and who can help them. In a way, we also are serving our society with the resources we have.

The act done by these stars and celebs are worth saluting and what is worth commendable is that this act will resonate a lot in the future and will hopefully help in making our society a better place to live in.
