Did anyone ever dream of making a successful career in India itself? 60% of the youth population denies hustling for recognition in their own country. That is only because of the traditional system of operation, less opportunities and roles. Absence of freedom, fair shakes, enactment and ratification keeps us hanging in between of the topmost and the last. The worst part is how we refuse to acknowledge the system’s flaw. Now, what gives way to such maladjustments is the tedious, forceful manner of education. There is no strong criticism against the existing platform as it has opened many doors for people who could not afford their or their children’s literacy. At least people are powerful enough to dream!
The issue faced today in educational training is the fact that every new style adopted is reworked on, again and again. A child is bound with certain rules and regulations that hamper his or her independent intellectual and mental development. There is no excitement brewing for any upcoming semester or projects in the school or college institutes. There is a particular pattern that goes on for years and then is just modified at every 5 years of interval. Does that even sound fun? Can one pretend to enjoy the change? I mean come on, you cannot work on skits and paper assignments and call it to the greatest of all exposures your school provides you with!
My country has always tried to bring in the western culture to everyone’s notice across, then why is this category of upliftment left behind? Education is the act of leaving a student on the road and asking him or her to pave the way for themselves, that’s how you learn, through all the obstacles and countenance. Groundwork makes you tough and rough. These real experiences count more than the real marks that show no real result of our intelligence. Workshops, Internships, Events, Dance, Acting, Writing – all these fields should be given an extra point to be added in the Indian Tradition of Education. A student gains confidence on stage, dynamic personality and a mature soul. Evolution of a healthy mind then reveals the end of all the comparisons and building up of a focused, fun loving, and an alive learner.
There should be a reformation in higher studies. As per my research, India needs a strong base but most of the universities are lacking funds. There can be more investments in the study materials than the admission process. The pattern of teaching can be modified. The question is how because suggestions are hardly worked upon!
- No More Boring lectures
All the lectures begin from early morning and continue till afternoons. Students find it tedious and feel lethargic. Hence, there must be more conversational sessions and interactions rather than monologues to inspire the students to read the subject further or develop their interest.
- Follow your pace, not the rat race!
Today’s competition intends to place every student at the same level whether the child understands and grasps it or not. But it is very important to notice that there are slow learners, fast learners and average ones. Not everyone can be pushed to the same path. Hence there must be a new model introduced where the student gets ample of time to understand the basic concepts before the teacher elaborates on it. Brainstorming should be allowed and creativity shouldn’t be hampered but acknowledged by the education system.
- Real world exposure
There must be events organised to where professional from various fields come in and share their experiences.
Yesterday there were just books, today the overrated internet facilities, tomorrow shall be some online tutors and no fine buildings with various lives to learn from around! Picking up on so many experiences altogether, apart from the content study, a student hence is able to create a room for him in this big world.
The golden rule is to be left free and wild to walk the path of knowledge, grasping the necessity, gulping the interest and puking the unimportant.
