According to a recent report published by IBN live, Avanindra Pandey, who was with Nirbhaya during the night of the incident called the documentary “fake”. This is what he said, as has been quoted by IBN Live on its website:
The documentary is unbalanced as the victim’s viewpoint is missing. The facts are hidden and the content is fake. Only Jyoti and I know what happened on that night and the documentary is far from truth.
He also said that he had never even heard about Satendra, the man who appeared as Jyoti’s tutor in the documentary, let alone him knowing which movie both of them wanted to watch that night. And this man who Avanindra doesn’t even recognize had appeared in the documentary multiple times with different stories about Nirbhaya.
As can be made out from the statements of Avanindra Pandey, it seems like BBC tried to sensationalize the issue by bringing up twisted facts in the documentary. Avanindra also backed the government’s decision of banning the documentary which seems like the right approach, given that the following allegations are true.
BBC or Leslie should come up with their answers to these questions raised up by Avanindra. These are some hard allegations but if checked out, then it denies the whole credibility of the documentary.
