The AIB controversy just doesn’t look like stopping anytime soon. After all those protests and FIRs a few days back, when this drama finally looked like coming to an end, Aamir Khan stepped up in front of the media to hog some limelight. He went against the flow of the wind and lashed out AIB for their roast on the grounds of obscenity, explicit content and emotional violence.
Now again when this matter seemed to be fizzing out from the minds of the people, Mallika Sherawat has something to say about it. Out of nowhere Mallika Sherawat is now standing in support of Aamir Khan. Out of all people, Mallika Sherawat is saying that what AIB did was vulgar and against societal norms.
She said in an interview to Hindustan Times, “I haven’t seen the roast, but I agree with what Aamir Khan has said — there shouldn’t be any emotional violence. He used a very correct term. I feel that we shouldn’t genuinely hurt anyone’s feelings and sensibilities.”
It looks like Bollywood can’t keep their hands off any controversy, if there is anything which can bring them into news they will do it. Mallika Sherawat, whom we all know how hungry she is for fame and publicity gave this statement as her movie, Dirty Politics, is about to hit the theatres. It can’t get any more typical.
Aren’t we done with what AIB did, and what was wrong and what was not about their roast? It looks like this is all we have left to talk about when in reality there is just so much going around us which seriously craves our attention. Only after people like Mallika Sherawat and Aamir Khan stop pulling out publicity gimmicks, the media will stop paying attention to their rhetorical drama.
I don’t know who is to be blamed more for this, these celebrities who want to sensationalize everything, the media who showcases stupid news in desperation for viewership, or us who in spite of knowing all this are willing to give our utmost attention?
No matter what I say, Mallika Sherawat is not going to stop. She is a darling to the media. What we can actually do about this is do nothing about this. It’s pointless to waste our energy in discussing and debating about such issues which no longer holds importance, though this is what I might have also done to some extent, but it’s true. AIB roast controversy is done and dusted, so please stop adding fuel to the dead fire.
