Search For Another Einstein – Can India Provide The Next Genius Of All Time To The World?

I heard his name when I was eleven. Curley white unarranged hairs with inches of wrinkles sliding over the face, liquefied eyes, with clearly noticeable sense of curiousness, that’s what one can observe watching his portrait for the first time. After so many days, when I have his photo as wallpaper in my phone screen, I say everyone that the person is little more favorite to me. He was the first scientist I came to know about, he was the first motivation worked behind me to leave my engineering career and study physics. He is the physicist of all time, Sir Albert Einstein.

Over his wide range of works made in theoretical physics he made his own standards in classical mechanics, modern Physics, Astrophysics, Relativity, optics, thermodynamics, numerical physics and lot more. He was the person who made a different branch of mathematics to support his theoretical works, Tensor. The genius of all time, the smart eyed human who was his own competitor.

But certainly in the modern day time where the cocktail exists between the authenticated standards of IITs and fun provided by Facebook, I am not at all bothered for any theory made by him or his Nobel prize, the question that hit my mind frequently is can we have another Albert Einstein in this present education and living standard of youth.

Observing India first, the country has a wide range of scientific and research organizations, recruiting wide range of young scientists via various screening examinations conducted by the institutes. Thus certainly the probability of finding another Albert Einstein in India is more in those institutions. I searched, I went through the various research publications and thesis made by some of the smart minds of India under the guidance in biggest research institutions of the nations. Some papers and publications were very good, enough for a doctoral title or giving a standard of ‘A’ grade scientist in ISRO or DRDO but are they that refined enough to be compared with the work of Einstein? Well I have to think once again.

So, where the difference exists? The guys at current time are not motivated? Are they not enough committed with the scientific attitude within them or they are not that smart? Few people say that the main problem with the current time student is students don’t have that attitude to engulf them in science. Many other say that, in the current scenario many distractions are working, may be that or due to the colorful world, the peers surrounding us or the distractions due to the social media or the virtual world. Questions are many, giving various answers and many new aspects toward the thing.

Let me observe the solution inside me. Being in a middle class family and doing the mistake of securing some good marks in my school examinations, I have been forced to be the part of my father’s dream to get a well-established life. I got to study science in the topmost school available in the town and I was imprinted with the dream of becoming an engineer, capturing a good job in any MNC, managing a 3 BHK with attached road side balcony, marrying a sweet looking working women, having sex with her, produce kids and again push the kids to attain the same so called well established life style I will lead. Where is the passion? Where is the attitude toward science? Where is the intense adrenalin flow for new scientific inventions? Well for a second let me forget the well-established life, a pretty wife and the sex, let me think once to give my whole life to science, let me become a physicist forgetting all the other stuffs. So for that up to class twelve I have to study Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and English.

I can’t study physics extra more as I want to become a physicist, rather I have to score good to get into a good university to study physics. Let me then ignore my father’s dream and skip engineering and manage a seat in a good university too, so when I will reach the university then what? I will get a huge syllabus of physics including some topics which I will never require in the practical or theoretical needs in future. Along with this there will be again chemistry and mathematics included. I too can’tforget the assignments, sessional tests, projects, interns and all. I do have to study only the things which are being printed in the book because the examiner will ask question from those things only. So after spending so many years, gathering a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in physics what I ultimately learn? Long theories, experiments and derivations produced by the scientists of nineteenth and twentieth century? Where most of them are just big bluffs in current day.

That’s how much physics I know, that’s how much a physics student will know. So what can we do with this much of knowledge? Manage a doctoral degree and become professor in another reputed college to earn money or join some research center and wait for tenders or projects from HRD or CSIR. After all I want money, I will study so much and secondly who will pay my credit card, electricity, internet and mobile bill if I don’t have money? So then what left? Managing a 3 BHK with attached road side balcony, marrying a sweet looking working women, having sex with her, produce kids and again push the kids to attain the same so called well established life style I will lead.

So that is the ultimate scenario from where we are passing from. The lifestyle we are in are too much different from those of the Einstein or someone else of that nineteenth century. May be we are fast, smart, bold, advanced but I do believe that creativity and ideas needs time to evolve. The only thing is sometime we are too much in rush for a better life that we often forget to stop somewhere to observe a falling apple from a tree and think over that.

So, can we have another Einstein in future? Why we need another Einstein? One was enough. We too have so many master minds in our age and the production will be continue in future too, the only thing is discussing the aspects of getting the right environment to culture the scientific genome within ourselves. Think over it once…..
