We had known Bangalore as the City of Pubs and Clubs, Garden City of India and Silicon Valley of India. However one more nickname that this city should be known as is The City of Compassionate Dog Lovers. I agree to the fact that every city in India has a population of Dog lovers, but Bangalore beats everyone in this respect because Bangaloreans embrace Dogs and puppies with open arms and heart.
Be it a dog of any breed or age, Bangaloreans have proved time and again that they don’t care about the exterior. All the care about is the innocence and love in the eyes of the pooches. The love and warmth the doggos spread to anyone in their vicinity. But again no hero has been glorified without villains. The same is true for the compassionate humans of Bangalore.
Recently our office sweetie, Snoopy, a 5 month old beagle pup was kidnapped by some anti-socials. It felt like our world was turned upside down. For the initial few days we felt as if someone stole happiness from our life. We lodged a police complaint, offered money for information and tried everything that we could but in vain.
But we cannot let any antisocial take away our love that we have inside our hearts. So HighApe is supporting an adoption campaign this Father’s Day. 18th June is the date and the venue is TherPuP, Whitefield. Again we alone cannot fight all those who are against the exploiters and breeders who use the dogs for selfish purposes and only to fill their coffers.
While personally I believe that they will never be successful in this nefarious thing, collectively the dog lovers of Bangalore must do something for this. This is a big shout-out to all the dog lovers, rescuers and everyone who cannot stand the idea of cruelty for dogs. Let’s show them it’s us against them. So through this article, it is an appeal to the Bangaloreans that help our four legged.
Organizations like CARE, Voice of Stray Dogs and Freagles of India are some of the organizations in Bangalore which are actively involved in taking care of pooches from being exploited. VOSD has more than 700 cute furry agents of love. Rakesh Shukla, an entrepreneur and fondly called Father of Dogs is the messiah who provides love and care that these pooches deserve.
Established in 2013 CARE, Bangalore facilitates adoption, help animals in distress and rehabilitation of abandoned animals. In the adoption drive we will have two cute doggos; Vicky and Chikki for adoption that are a part of the CARE family. Vicky is a 2 year old Golden Retriever Cross breed dog and Chikki is a 6 months old Indie puppy.
Freagles of India is another such organization that works very hard to provide families where the rescued beagles will be loved and cared for. For they also deserve the love, warmth and care of a family. Being exploited for most part of their life in the research labs of Hyderabad, these Beagles look with the innocence in their eyes that will melt your heart.
