Yes, the 25-year-old girl is all set to inspire all women throughout the country to surge up and fight for the feminism and drive away the heinous act of the society.
Remi Rusha Sen, who is a senior executive for J W Marriott in Bangalore, deserves a big acclamation and applause for her entire course of action where she had to deal with yet another atrocious aspect of our society in the middle of a busy road. This brave woman took a stand against such provocations, aggregated her wits, chased and apprehended the drunken pervert who tried to play foul with her in the middle of the road.
Here is the full occurrence as it happened-
Remi was passing through the engrossed Vittal Mallya Road around 8:45 pm in the evening towards her home from work, when suddenly she was grabbed by someone from behind right after she crossed the road from Marriott Hotel towards her apartment which was nearly 150 meters away. It was a mysterious man, who was sitting in the back seat of a full swing auto rickshaw who held her from behind and deliberately tried to pull her skirt down from within the running auto. Not only this, the molester tried to flee away when Remi screamed in terror in the middle of the road. Within a fraction of a second, while Remi turned around, she saw the auto is dashing away towards Lavelle Road after making such an attempt.
Now, in most of the cases we see around, in such incident, the victim will either keep her mouth shut or will act accordingly without even thinking that a small step towards such perverts may give rise to the needful justice from which half the time most of the victims are abandoned from. Henceforth, without thinking much about what to do next, Sen, who was normally shocked about the whole incident, quickly gathered her wits and hiring an auto, gave a rightful chase to the pervert for about half a kilometre. By guiding the auto driver to follow the first vehicle, she was successfull in stopping the pervert in front of the Navnit Motors on Lavelle Road.
Therefore, this act of standing against such evil act is what all the women are excessively in need of. With such a high approached incident, it gathered a huge level of people’s crowd who came around to support the victim while she was screaming at the molester. She simultaneously called her associates and boss who immediately briefed the Cubbon Park police about the whole incident who approached the spot soon.
She said- “I called my F&B director, Jolly, and told him what happened. He then called the police and all of them rushed to the spot to help.” She added- “There was a strong stench of alcohol emanating from the pervert, and he began pleading for mercy, claiming he hailed from a good family and was married with children, but I refused to listen.” (Source- Bangalore Mirror)
Remi Rusha Sen, followed the police to the station and then lodged an FIR against the accused molester. In fact, the police exposed from his driver’s license that the man named as Ajmal Ahmed A M, was an erstwhile auto rickshaw driver, whose auto had been seized few days back due to illegal activities.
Remi told the news media- “The police were very cooperative and encouraging of my actions. They said most victims of eve-teasing did not stand up for themselves, whereas apprehending the pervert and filing a complaint would send out a strong message. Police are also collecting CCTV footage from the camera installed at the exit gate of UB City as evidence; and the pervert was produced in front of a magistrate on Thursday and sent to prison.” (Source – Bangalore Mirror)
Hailing from Kolkata, Remi Rusha Sen has been living in Bangalore for about 10 years and she disclosed that this is the very first time such kind of incident happened with her ever. After the whole incident, she divulged- “If this can happen to someone just crossing the road home from their workplace on a busy street like Vittal Mallya Road, I shudder to imagine what could happen anywhere else. I’m grateful that the police reacted instantly.” In the meantime, when Sandeep Patil, deputy commissioner of police (central) was approached, he entrenched his grief regarding the whole incident and said- “The victim showed a great presence of mind in chasing him, and the accused was arrested immediately.”
Thus, we can say, capturing or apprehending the molester and filing an accusation would send out a strong message to the whole country and the people all over. With such an effort, Remi Rusha Sen was praised by the entire police department and all the cops around and they mentioned that they truly support all her initiatives and encourage her activities and will be always supportive regarding this. This stand, against such a gruelling act, will inspire the women all around motivating them to take a step ahead against such evil acts, just like her.
