Isn’t Our Education System A Form Of Child Abuse? Here’s How It Is!

Indian Education System defines CHILD ABUSE.

Now this is something we need to talk about! And, this is something most of us did face. You have to understand something that Child Abuse is not always ‘Physical’. Mental and Emotional Child Abuse is something we must expose. In an education system like this, most of us are victims, no actually, all of us face “you have to get a 90%”. Do you realize how fast time is changing? Recently, the ICSE and ISC results show how students are working hard and striving day and night to get a 90%. HOLD ON!

“90% se kya hoga. Humare padosi k bete ko dekho, last year 95% laya tha”!

A student works hard to make sure his parents do not face humiliation in the society. This time 99.75% was the highest and as per my research, the boy who secured 99.75% did not get through DU first list in the admission test, “Kolkata’s Arya Chatterjee tops Class 12 (ISC) with 99.75% marks. Delhi University says, “Hi, you missed our first list by 0.25%”. India, we have to understand that marks will not measure our intelligence or future. I mean, look at class 10 boards, that percentage is not even important and students are pressurized to secure good ranks, they study day and night and what happens after that?

Class 10 board marks don’t carry any significance later! There are so many students who have the capability to study in the best Universities in India but each year the cut off is getting higher, even 99.75% isn’t enough for DU now. Now, a child’s mind which starts developing from the age of 5 is only being taught Competition and 95%+. People must realize a mark sheet cannot determine my talents and intelligence. A child leaves his innocence behind to secure good ranks to place himself in a good position in the society, mostly because of his parents ‘expectations’. My sister, 6 years old, goes to school in the morning, she’s back by 2,and trust me when I say this, she goes to attend Math classes with 47 other kids. Well, this is nothing!

Our education system is so complicated that in a few schools the system of examination starts from class 5 and in other schools, Nursery going children has to take a test to pass and they are 3 years old. What is India exactly heading towards is my question? Are we growing up to become big names and earn gallons of money? Or, money is all what matters to schools and parents today? Or, is competition a fashion according to the schools and the parents? A 7 year old studies 6 hours a day, isn’t this his age to play and discover childhood? Dear parents, what we have to really understand are you are hampering your child’s mental and social life.

The Indian system of Education deals with subjects which might shape his brain and might make him a genius but what about his comfort zone? A child securing 95 and a child failing the test brings in discrimination and depression. Statistics say over 62% children undergo depression. Do you realize WHAT IS DEPRESSION AND ITS EFFECTS ARE DANGEROUS? A 10 year old child is preparing for his boards, his has a math tutor who is preparing him and he studies for 13 hours, this child functions his task and does not go out to play, he plays video games every Saturday for an hour and gets back to studies. When I was 10, I hardly remember staying home and studying, I was always out, learning new things, fighting over chocolates and playing hide and seek. Your child is NOT healthy, he IS a patient and he NEEDS help. Love and care can wait, Peace cannot! Statistics also say that most children from the protected homes going to reputed institutions face child abuse.

And what’s with Modi Government including Hinduization methods in the school syllabus where students are taught to respect tyrants like Hitler! Then there’s also Men’s perversion in the form of exhibitionism. Now what is Exhibitionism? It is an act of exposing in a public or semi public context those parts on one’s body that are not normally exposed, like Mooning. We also have to realize that these things happen and we overlook. In 2008, a report says a sports teacher while teaching his student martial arts, punched her chest and it kept happening till she completed her course. She didn’t realize it then, she realizes it now that it is a kind of abuse, we see a lot of cases like this and we tend to overlook it. Now why is that? Answer this to yourself.

Coming back to academics, the rate of Suicide cases have been increasing and the percentage right now is more than 55. Over 55% students commit suicide due to mental pressure and torture. parents don’t listen to them and impose their unreal goals on them, then comes the family’s ‘expectation’ and then there are relatives and neighbours, and getting through a good college is all that matters in India to become a name, who listens to the boy who wants to explore the world with a camera, he is sent to a laboratory and asked to dissect dead animals, what about that girl who wants to study arts and is forced to study science and is pressurized and blackmailed by her mother to get an extremely good percentage!

Do you see what I see? I see “The future of India” is just a tag imposed on these kids who are unhappy and do not enjoy doing the “future” bit because they don’t do it from the heart! Why do you have to force your child to do something that he doesn’t want to?

Ambitions keep changing. I have had more than 13 ambitions in my life because I have grown up with a free and a healthy mind. I am 21 now, I know what do I want to become and I am sure of it, all I am saying is, we all must have the liberty to choose what we want and how we should go about it must be left on us to decide and not be burdened with unnecessary things. The Indian Education System is taking away lives. Recently I read a post where students (Delhi) from class 6 are been given Engineering tutorials! Where is his childhood? Under the mat which has formulas written on it, suffocating and dying, what about his talents? He might want to become a painter, a model, a doctor! India, STOP killing what you call “Future”. Indian Schools and Parents, please stop murdering your children. Let them be. Peaceful lives are much better than living a rich life with no satisfaction.
