Bhishma Pitamaha was king maker and a loyal soldier of the Kingdom of Hastinapur. He was a king maker and served kings like Dhritarashtra and Duryodhana till his death. He completely ignored the sins of Duryodhana and served him. I can’t find anyone other than Lal Krishna Advani, who not only served but still serving our nation at this age of 90 years. He is a true king maker for Atal Ji and Modi Ji. You may agree or not, but that is the bitter truth.
We accepted Mahatma Gandhi and we consider him father of Nation by ignoring all his negativity. We accepted Pandit Nehru as a leader and gave the nation in his hand for more than 16 years and we all know his negativity. We accepted Atal Ji not only as Prime Minister of Nation but also awarded highest award of Nation ie Bharat Ratna. We also accepted Narendra Modi and given him country for last 4 years knowing all his ambitions..
Yes there is no perfect human being in this world, not even in our mythological stories like Ramayana and Mahabharata. We really need to accept our leaders with all their greatness and as well as negativity. Then why we didn’t accept Shri Lal Krishna Advani. Why today at this age also, he is criticized and kept away from power.
The trio of Advani, Atal and Murali Manohar Joshi brought up BJP from Zero to what it is today i.e. largest political party of Nation, but still we hate him and criticise him.
I still remember in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s National Executive and Council meeting held at Mumbai in 1995 when Advani ji was President of BJP, he declared Atal ji as Prime Minister Candidate of BJP. He did this by knowing his own strength as well as the weakness and strength of Atal ji. If you ask me he was KING MAKER for our nation at that time also. He has always supported Atal ji the way Bhishma supported his king.
Shri Lal Krishna Advani decided not to contest the 1996 General elections voluntarily as there were two serious cases ongoing against him: Hawala Fraud & Babri Masjid demolition. The reason he stated in his book “My Country, My Life” was that he didn’t want to interfere in the proceedings of the cases had he won the election by being a part of Legislature or Executive. This only can done by a dedicated leader like Advani ji.
On 27 February 2002, a group of people from a Muslim populated area of Godhra had set fire to a few bogies of a train — the Sabarmati Express — which carried pilgrims from Ayodhya, a town considered holy by the Hindus. Massive riots broke out, mostly targeting Muslims, for nearly a week.
All the killing and pillaging in Gujarat had given Vajpayee a bad name, more so because Gujarat had a BJP government in place, with a chief minister who had reportedly not risen enough, to the occasion to rein in the violence. Vajpayee was blamed for his failure as PM to get rid of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who reportedly shouted back at a Muslim leader on the phone for seeking help after a mob had gathered outside his house. Some hours later, the Muslim leader was lynched, and Modi is alleged to have asked the police forces to let the violence continue. At that moment, Modi seemed to be the villain who brought a lot of shame to the central government.
As PM of the nation Atal ji received a huge damage to his image and image of BJP worldwide. Based on rhis he decided that Modi must go. Before Panjim Goa national executive meeting of BJP in 2002 Atal ji decided to ask for resignation from Modi ji and which would have been the end of political carrier of Modi ji. In the Panjim Goa national executive meeting of BJP in 2002 Advani kept mum on the resignation issue of Modi as he was not ready for it. Also other members of National executive committee dramatically disagreed the need for resignation of Modi ji which saved political carrier of Modi and today he is Prime Minister of Nation.
Similarly Advani ji has given hundreds of leaders to nation at state and national level. His role in BJP nothing less than Bhishma Pitamaha role in Mahabharata. I still don’t find BJP’s existence without his agenda of Hindutva, which is the basis of BJP and its existence as national political party.
Whatever negativity, he has but the kind of POSITIVITY he has put in to Indian politics is commendable and will remain inspirational to many young political leaders, who like to serve nation above personal greed.
